Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!!!

Last week we talked about Chicka Chicka Boom Boom! (As we will this week too.) We painted our tree trunks last week and we will finish them up this week. We will also do letter stamping and tracing.... We will dance to Chicka chicka boom songs, and, of course, have freeplay.
We have someone new joining us. Reid and his mom Aryn are joining us. We are going to have so much fun!!

First day of class!!!

Today we had our first day of class in our group.

We had circle time. Lexi was our weather helper- She told us it was sunny outside! We sang our "Days of the Week" song, and talked about the days of the week. Also we sang a fingerplay anbout our bodies. The letter of the week was "A", and the number was 2.

We had free play in centers- everyone liked playing in the kitchen.

We also made "all about me" hand puppets, colored a letter A, and had journal time in our notebooks.

We had a lot of fun and are looking forward to next week!

Our theme next will be "Chicka Chicka Boom Boom", based on the book by Bill Martin Jr. We will begin making a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Tree out of paper towel tubes. Letter stamping, Chicka chicka boom boom music, parachute play and do an activity with our letter of the week.



We are also beginning work on our Enviromental Print board.

Thursday is the first day of class!!!

Well the first day of class is upon us! This Thursday will be the first time our little preschool group will meet.

Class time is from 9:30- 11:30. Our first theme is "All About Me". We will be talking about ourselves- our hair, eyes, hands. The letter of the week is A, and the number is 2.
We are going to have so much fun!!!

I am posting pictures of the portable circle time board I made for our group. Because we do not have a classroom, I made it portable and easily put away.

Our Classroom

Today Cindy and I, (with the help of Lexi and Emily), set up our "classroom". We organized toys, created centers, and got a feel for how things were going to when class start Sept 6th.

We are lucky to have Cindy hosting our little group- she already had a preschool in her playroom. We just had to organize and pair down the toys.

I am so excited for us to get started!!!!

Getting started

Thursday my friends and I are going to meet to lay out how we are going to run the preschool co-op we are starting. We are going to decide what days we are going to meet, what time, how often....
I am also going to show them the curriculum I have come up with.
I, of course, am going to start with an "all About Me" theme, and going into "Chicka chicka boom boom" from there.
What did I get myself into??? Do I not have enough to do?

I just miss teaching.
